What is the minimum inlet height?
110mm. This ensures the suction to the pump is always flooded and prevents the possibility of air locking.
What material is the tank made from?
Recyclable Polyethylene. The tank is rigid, easier to drill tank connections into, and the sides of the tank are less likely to congeal with fats and grease.
How does the lid fit?
No tools are required to remove the lid. It’s held in place by 4 off stainless hand screws.
How do I know when to use a single or dual pump system?

Does the pump come with an alarm?
A high-level alarm can be specified as an extra. Alarms will have volt free contacts for a BMS and can be connected to solenoid valves to shut of incoming water feed to dish / washing machines for example.
Can I pump hot water?
Your standard submersible pump is designed to operate with fluid temperatures up to 40 deg c, for short periods only, up to 60 deg c. You need a dedicated hot wastewater pump if the temperatures are above this.
Will the pump start / stop automatically?
If the pump is fitted with a float arm this will automatically start / stop the pump. Dual pumps for duty standby will need an additional control panel.

What maintenance is required?
All pump stations should be inspected regularly. For busy commercial premises this might be every six months, domestic properties yearly. Ask Pump Technology to arrange an inspection.
