Simple domestic sewage pumping station for a New Garden Room

Garden rooms are now an established solution for adding office or multipurpose space and versatility to homes.

Recently, Dore Garden Offices were commissioned to construct just such a garden room for use as an office, entertainment space and additional guest bedroom in a property in East Midlands. This build needed to include kitchen and bathroom facilities.

The location of the build, down a slope in the garden, meant that it was below the public sewer level by approximately 2 meters and was 20 meters away from the nearest sewage connection. Therefore, a suitable domestic sewage pumping station was required.

The system specified was the below ground MiniMatic small sewage pumping station, which is sited alongside the garden room. Wastewater from sinks, shower and the WC discharge into the buried pumping chamber by gravity. At a pre-set level the pump activates and automatically pumps the tank contents up to the main sewer.

The MiniMatic consists of a polyethylene pumping chamber, capacity 160L, with a free-standing, single phase, automatic, submersible pump fitted with a 50mm free passage vortex impeller. Everything was included, internal pipework, non-return valve, pedestrian rated cover and an audible / visual high-level alarm.

The domestic sewage pumping station was easy to install, full fitting instructions were provided and we knew that, in the event of any questions, a quick phone call would result in an immediate response from one of Pump Technology’s engineers.

The new owner of the pumping station also has the opportunity to utilize the maintenance and repair services of sister company Pump Technology Services Ltd. who offer support nationally. A yearly inspection is recommended and no contract is required.
